Acceptable Use Policy
Last updated: 24 March 2026
1. Purpose
This Acceptable Use Policy ("AUP") governs your use of the Visualizer Plugin Widget, Dashboard, API, and all related services provided by NorBot Systems Inc. This AUP is incorporated by reference into our Terms of Service. By using the Service, you agree to comply with this AUP. We may update this AUP from time to time; material changes will be communicated in accordance with our Terms of Service.
2. Prohibited Conduct
You may not use the Service to engage in any of the following activities. (a) CASL Violations: sending unsolicited commercial electronic messages using leads collected through the Widget in violation of Canada’s Anti-Spam Legislation (CASL) or any other applicable anti-spam legislation. (b) Unsolicited Contact: contacting homeowners who submitted information through the Widget for purposes unrelated to the renovation enquiry they initiated, or sharing their contact information with third parties without their express consent. (c) Unauthorised Access: attempting to access, probe, or test the vulnerability of any NorBot system, or breaching any security or authentication measures. (d) Reverse Engineering: decompiling, disassembling, reverse engineering, or otherwise attempting to derive the source code, algorithms, or data structures of the Widget or any other component of the Service. (e) Reselling: sublicensing, reselling, renting, or leasing access to the Service or any component thereof to any third party. (f) Malware: uploading, transmitting, or distributing any malicious code, viruses, trojans, worms, or other harmful software through the Service. (g) Impersonation: misrepresenting your identity, company affiliation, or relationship with NorBot to any third party. (h) Rate Limit Circumvention: attempting to bypass, circumvent, or otherwise evade rate limits, usage quotas, or other technical restrictions imposed by the Service. (i) Fraudulent Quoting: using the AI quote engine to generate intentionally misleading, fraudulent, or deceptive estimates. (j) Misleading Content: uploading photographs that have been digitally altered to misrepresent the condition of a property, or using AI-generated visualisations in a manner designed to deceive homeowners about the expected outcome of renovation work.
3. Widget Content Standards
Content submitted through the Widget must meet the following standards. Photographs must depict real properties; stock images or AI-generated property images may not be submitted as representing a real project. You may not manipulate photographs to fraudulently misrepresent the condition of a property (for example, digitally removing structural damage to obtain a lower quote). Business information displayed in the Widget (company name, branding, contact details) must be accurate and reflect your actual registered business. You are responsible for ensuring that any content you display through or in connection with the Widget complies with all applicable advertising standards and consumer protection legislation.
4. API Usage
API access is subject to the following rules. Rate limits are enforced per API key (configuration: 30 requests/minute, visualisation: 5 requests/minute, leads: 10 requests/minute, chat: 20 requests/minute). Attempting to circumvent or evade these limits by any means is prohibited. API keys are confidential credentials; do not share them publicly, embed them in client-side code outside the Widget, or expose them in public repositories. Each API key is authorised for use on the domain(s) registered in your account settings. Using an API key on an unauthorised domain is a violation of this AUP. One active API key per domain is permitted unless otherwise arranged with NorBot support.
5. Enforcement
If we determine that you have violated this AUP, we may take one or more of the following actions. For non-critical violations, we will provide written notice (via email) and 24 hours to remedy the violation before taking further action. For violations that pose an imminent risk of harm to NorBot, its users, or third parties, or that constitute fraud, we may immediately suspend your account without prior notice. Upon termination of your account for AUP violations, you will have 30 days to request a data export. After 30 days, your data will be permanently deleted. Repeated or severe violations may result in permanent account termination without eligibility for reinstatement. We reserve the right to report illegal activity to the appropriate law enforcement authorities.
6. Reporting
If you become aware of any use of the Service that violates this Acceptable Use Policy, please report it to abuse@norbotsystems.com. Include as much detail as possible, including the nature of the violation, the parties involved, and any supporting evidence. We will investigate all reports in a timely manner and take appropriate action. Reports may be submitted anonymously, although providing contact information allows us to follow up if additional information is needed.
